Interpersonal Managing SkillsOverview Interpersonal Managing Skills (IMS) Seminar will equip
participants with defined skills that can be observed by others, as
these skills are utilized on the job. This seminar teaches basic skills that have wide application in
the day-to-day management of positive employee relations and on the
job performance. These skills take into account the need for
feedback, recognition, encouragement, and fulfillment that are
present in every employee. By completing this seminar participating managers and supervisors
will be able to improve their communication and supervisory
effectiveness. These are the skill areas: Seminar participants will learn how to credit employees for a job
well done. Learning how this powerful skill helps motivate employees
is a part of a successful supervisor's skill base. This is the "workhorse" skill when it comes to communicating
effectively. Poor instructions, misunderstanding, missed deadlines
and poor relationships are all improved when managers and
supervisors "clarify and confirm". Rather than taking ideas from your team, give recognition by
"building" on their ideas. This process builds teamwork and
cooperation that fosters new ideas. How many times have you tried to give feedback over performance,
only to create a non-productive defensive reaction? This skill
teaches how to give performance feedback that motivates performers
to improve. How do you deal with an employee whose goals seem contrary to
your own and to those of the organization? You use the skill called
Managing Differences. This skill works to resolve these conflicts
and put performance back on track. This is a three day seminar. This seminar is generally limited to
ten trainees per session. This seminar is recommended for all managers and supervisors.
